My site uses a third party web based email company to provide branded e-mails to users of our site (user1@mydomain.com).

We have had this working for over a year now, but due to some black-hats, we had to wipe the server and reinstall.

When i set up the MX record for our domain to point to our host (mailrecv.mailprovider.com.) it adds the MX record fine. BUT.. when i do a NSLOOKUP on my domains MX record it reports..

mailrecv.mailprovider.com.mydomain.com

appending my domain to the end of it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove that?!

Usually its becase your mx record doesnt have a period after the domain name.

We fixed it for you

;; ANSWER SECTION:
wrassle.net. 10h40m IN MX 10 mailrecv.bigmailbox.com.

;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
wrassle.net. 10h40m IN NS ns1.wrassle.net.

;; ADDITIONAL SECTION:
ns1.wrassle.net. 10h40m IN A 12.105.169.104

At the top of your records file for your SOA is first your domain name followed by IN SOA etc.... again, your domain name did not have a period after it. You can see from the above dig that it is fixed now.
