This is kind of old now but keeps popping up - if you are running RedHat make sure you run up2date to keep your openssl current - versions of openssl that come on the standard RedHat install discs include a vulnerability to the slapper worm - computers usually get infected within hours. Its very important to keep up2date with up2date!

In the CPanel forum, you mentioned in a post NOT to use up2date, to use whm instead. So, would it be safe to add you'd recommend using up2date on redhat systems unless the system is using CPanel/WHM?

Yes, that is already answered in the redhat forum - all redhat users should use up2date
