New Features 1. Application Packaging Standard (APS) – The new site applications format is open and can be used by individual software developers, ISVs and service providers for packaging their own applications. 2. Single Sign On (SSO) – Single Sign-on technology gives ability to use single authentication gate (like Active Directory) and share user sessions between multiple applications. Thus the user does not need to type login/password each time he switches to another application easing the ability to integrate multiple applicaations. In this Plesk release Single Sign-on comes in status of technology preview, therefore it is not enabled by default. 3. SWsoft Sitebuilder 4.0 – Full integration with the latest release of the easy to use application to create and manage websites, including the ability to backup and restore Sitebuilder data. 4. MIVA Merchant Module – Now available on all platforms, MIVA Merchant is a storefront development and management system. It integrates catalog, product, fulfillment, maintenance, category management, shopping cart, order processing, and credit card processing in association with many of the MIVA payment providers, including Authorize.net, VeriSign.com, and several others. 5. Plesk Anti-Virus Powered by Kaspersky – Now available on all platforms, the Kaspersky Antivirus (KAV) filter for email is able to check incoming/outgoing emails filter attachments via name and MIME type operate infected objects according to user’s decisions Plesk includes a module for Kaspersky Antivirus software management. The module is able to manage KAV services view KAV logs perform manual and scheduled updates of KAV databases configure primary KAV settings 6. ColdFusion DSN (Windows version only) – Users can configure ColdFusion Data Sources for each domain. 7. MyLittleAdmin (Windows version only) – MyLittleAdmin is a web-based sql administration tool for SQL Server 2005. Users will be able to view their MS SQL databases with MyLittleAdmin just like they use phpMyAdmin for MySQL databases. 1 . 0 . Improved Backup/Restore (Windows version only) – Several enhancements to backup/restore options including ability to backup and restore remote MS-SQL databases, exclude specific extensions, files, and folders from backup, and skip unreadable files in backup. 1 . 1 . Managing backups through API RPC – Plesk provides API methods for managing Plesk backups remotely. 12. Customize vendor repository via CU (Linux/Unix version only) – Ability to manage Autoinstaller resources, such as ability to configure Plesk and system package sources, through CU interface. 13. Ruby Component Update (Linux/Unix version only) – Ruby component is updated to latest stable version (1.8.6). 14. Autoinstaller 3.2.0 (Linux/Unix version only) – New Autoinstaller 3.2.0 has a number of new features including “redhat up2date support” and “error reporting improvement”. 15. DB table prefix – There will be a server setting to use client login as prefix for new databases - so that all client databases names will be in format <client>_<database>. This option will not be in effect when database is created via API-RPC. 16. API for Plesk for Windows migration tool – Plesk API now supports the Plesk for Windows migration tool. 17. Migrate mail from Plesk for Windows – You can now migrate mail from Plesk from Windows server via the Plesk for Windows migration tool. 18. Piped logs for Apache (Linux/Unix version only) – So Plesk now to use pipelogging for apache logs so that services work more efficiently. 19. Improved Installation time (Linux/Unix version only) – Installation time reduced by up to 25%. 20. Horde components upgrade (Linux/Unix version only) – Horde and it’s components upgraded to latest upstream releases. Upgrade of clients PHP 4/5 (Windows version only) – Upgrade of PHP4 and PHP5 to latest version. 25. Defaults for limit of maximum FTP and FrontPage subaccounts (Windows version only) – Unlimited values for maximum FTP and FrontPage subaccounts limits by default. 26. Application Pack (Windows version only) – There is a single pack of all available site applications which can be installed separately of Plesk. 32. Combined site applications – AppVault, ASP.NET Starter Kits and Java Apps (Windows version only) – There is a single point in Plesk UI where all types of site applications – AppVault, ASP.NET Starter Kits and Java Apps – can be managed. 33. Domains/clients turn on/off via Group Operations (Windows version only) – Clients and Domains can be turned on and off from “Global changes” menu. 34. “ll-CC”-format locale naming (Windows version only) – Plesk for Windows uses “ll-CC” format for locales naming. |
